Areas of Practice Our attorneys possess a broad spectrum of legal expertise, utilzing strategic foresight to foster success.

With certain areas of practice sharing similarities in the manners through which they are litigated, our firm takes advantage of these parallels by sub-dividing our attorneys into highly focused departments; our three litigation departments include the following:

General Liability

This department encompasses a broad range of liability matters and is the largest of our three departments. Our general liability attorneys are prepared to provide the best defense on matters ranging from simple premises liability cases through complex and demanding commercial claims, among many other practice areas. Eight attorneys in the department each have, individually, over twenty years litigation experience, while defending cases in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Over the years we have provided legal services to companies such as: AIG, Cincinnati, CNA, Hartford Specialty Risk, James River, Liberty Mutual, Markel and New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Companies, as well as self-insured clients such as: A. Duie Pyle, Bimbo Foods, Canada Dry, Frito-Lay, Pep Boys, and SEPTA, among others.

Medical Malpractice

This department focuses on matters of liability pertaining to hospitals, surgeons, physicians, dentists, and other health care providers. Many medical malpractice cases involve complex subject matter of a nature which can be difficult for non-professionals to understand. An experienced attorney, skilled in not only uncovering the means to a successful defense but also effectively communicating the defense to a jury, can make a marked difference in the outcome of a case. Effective expert testimony is a critical component of medical malpractice defense, and we maintain strong relationships with many qualified expert witnesses in our areas of practice. Our firm is among the most active in the defense of medical malpractice claims in the state of Pennsylvania.

Workers’ Compensation

This department concentrates on all matters pertaining to workers’ compensation defense. As an area of practice with unique legal guidelines, resolution methods and even court systems, it is critically important to choose a defense attorney with particular expertise in the field. Our attorneys in the Workers’ Compensation department have over 100 years of combined experience defending employers in a broad range of matters, including – but not limited to: work-related injuries, lost wages claims, medical treatment expenses and fraud. Furthermore, our workers’ compensation attorneys are actively engaged in providing employers with the knowledge necessary to mitigate the potential for claims against them through risk management education.
