Maria (Mia) Rossi is an associate who joined the Philadelphia office of Naulty, Scaricamazza & McDevitt, LLC in 2021. She practices with the law firm’s Medical Malpractice and General Liability Departments, focusing on nursing home cases, veterinary malpractice, premises liability, and motor vehicle claims.
Mia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies & Production from Temple University, where she enjoyed participating in a semester abroad at Temple’s Rome campus. During her senior year, Mia began working for the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania at the Criminal Justice Center in Philadelphia where her in-court experience started as a courtroom scheduler. Upon graduation she was hired as a Court Clerk and worked in various diversionary and specialty court programs. Her last four years with the courts were spent in the Drug Treatment Court Program, a diversionary program focusing on drug counseling and treatment of defendants facing certain low-level drug offenses. Her daily exposure to the judicial system, its judges, advocates, and litigants was instrumental in her desire to attend law school.
Mia attended Delaware Law School at night while working for the Philadelphia Court system. While at Delaware, she was a member of the Women’s Law Caucus and completed two internships. She was a Legal Intern for the National Lawyers Guild’s New Jersey & Delaware Chapter and contributed to the launch of their Mass Defense Fund Hotline from its inception. She also interned for the Deputy Director of the Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council (DCRAC), where she assisted in a range of legal issues from creating an LLC to traffic violations. She participated in a summer semester at Temple Law’s Rome campus where she studied European Union Law and International Law. Mia is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. She is a South Philadelphia native currently living in Fishtown with her two dogs. As the daughter of an immigrant, Mia has dual citizenship in Italy and enjoys traveling there to vacation and see family as often as she can.
